Boise Rising brings together a vision for Boise, public projects, and the stories that help people see what is possible. Boise Civic Trust, Inc. is the nonprofit behind that work.
Why the name “Boise Rising”?
To build the civic foundations that restore meaning, coherence, and beauty to our world.
Why we exist
People experience one Boise. Its streets, parks, paths, and neighborhoods are managed in pieces. Each piece can be handled well and the whole can still fall short.
A missing connection may cross several properties, budgets, and responsibilities. Fixing it takes someone willing to carry the work between them. That is why Boise Civic Trust exists.
From a possibility
to a project.
We begin with the place and the people who use it. We learn what is already underway, identify who can make decisions, and define a practical project.
Then we assemble the team and funding, work through agreements, and carry the project toward implementation. Qualified professionals lead the design and technical work.

Eric came to this work through housing. The places that worked best gave him both privacy and nearby neighbors. That experience led him to ask how design could make that balance less of an accident.
His background spans writing, photography, film, and small-scale housing. He founded Alley Homes to help Boise homeowners explore what their properties could accommodate, then founded Boise Rising to bring the same attention to the places the city shares.
